How many photos of Abraham Lincoln are there?
There’s the classic portrait that we see in elementary school, there’s one of him standing with his generals, one in the crowd at Gettysburg (the only known photo of him there), and one on Yahoo today of him looking at the camera, almost turning away, with a smile that could suggest “I know something you dont know”, when the announcement was made that Daniel Day-Lewis would play him in a movie..

Lincoln was, at the time, one of the most photographed people in the world. He seemed to enjoy having his picture taken, and he had a favorite photographer, Alexander Gardner, who worked at Matthew Brady’s studio. (Brady put his name on everything, even if he didn’t actually take the picture himself.)
I’d say there could be 100, maybe more, but I’m not sure. I’ll try to track it down.

What childhood conditionings do you still remain true to?
When I was in grade school, I vividly remember being taught repeatedly to avoid at all costs, such practices such as smoking and any type of drug use.
Starting from early preschool and continuing through all of elementary school, I also remember the concept being hammered repeatedly into my consciousness, “Racism is bad, racism is bad, racism is bad, racism is bad…”
Those are the main conditionings that I never relinquished. However, there are many other attempts to condition me during childhood, some partly successful, some not taken very seriously.
One particular conditioning involved how we were taught during childhood to more or less idolize certain people in history, particularly George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, Martin Luther King Jr. and even some people such as Paul Revere.
What were you conditioned to think during childhood?
Did you remain true to each attempt to shape your beliefs at such an early age?

Goodness no, I didn’t remain true to many things. I was raised amish and was taught that vanity was a sin.
Oopsie! Failed on that one.
The ones that stuck were: don’t have sex until you’re married.
Respect your elders.
Treat others the way you want to be treated at all times (I follow it like a book to this day)
And if it’s hard, it could always get harder (be thankful for what you have and don’t ever wish you had it ‘better’ or ‘more’ because it could ALWAYS be worse!)
I was also taught a good ass whoopin’ never killed anyone, and that’s stuck too.
OTHER than those… yeah… not too much

I was very thoroughly conditioned to not drink, do drugs, or smoke. To this day, I still do not, and I am glad I do not. I think that I got to a point where I could do those things, but I did still choose not to. Yes, it was mainly due to conditioning, but also know the negative/legal problems, I’m glad I didn’t want to.
Most of the ideolizations from the past, though, I gave up. I am not about to say some people were terrible villains or what not. But the missions most of the people were on were quite lame. War for money, over and over. I guess Dr. MLK still seems like he is worth all the hype, but not so much the rest of them

Why do some Liberal Democrats claim Republicans to be racist??
They obviously have no idea who Abraham Lincoln is Eh.
Time to go back to elementary school Eh? Eh heh.
Notice I said “some”, if you type some stupid shyt like “nooooo not true all of them don’t think that…” then you seriously need to open a book improve your reading comprehension skills.
Answer by GOZ2FAST
Because they have no other leg to stand on…so they have to call names because they can’t debate policy because theirs have failed miserably.

Democrats are more racist than republicans are.
Supporting the assimilation of your own nation and people is genocide. Racist genocide.

I noticed you left out one of the “some” ‘s . Some liberal Democrats claim some Republicans to be racist.
Answer by Alex
First of all, Abraham Lincoln WAS racist by modern standards. While he was against slavery, he was not an abolitionist at the start of the Civil War, and he did not believe blacks were fully equal to whites.
Second, the Republicans were the more liberal party in the 1860s. The Democrats were the small government, states-rights party back then. Both parties have evolved considerably over the years. I know you know that, and I also know you are intentionally trying to spread misinformation and deny history as modern conservatives always do.

Clearly… You are a couple of tacos short of a combo plate lady..
First of all, Abraham Lincoln is not a good example, because he was essentially a democrat.. At that time the republicans were on the liberal end of the spectrum and the democrats were on the conservative end. They eventually switched sides. So basically all thats changed is the names. If you had taken a history class, you would have known this. ex: Lincoln was strongly against slavery. Still not convinced? Lincoln was very against the Mexican-American War… Now that doesn’t sound very Republican does it?Andrew Jackson, the man who started the democratic party, was more like one of today’s Republicans. He enforced the Indian Removal Act, and he was a supporter of states rights and nullification. He’s would definitely be a Republican, were he alive today.
Furthermore, some Democrats think Republicans are racist because of issues like Immigration.. Don’t say its about taxes and all that bull. Because 1) You wouldnt have patrol stationed on the Canadian border if they were coming over here. and 2) Since the U.S. is partly responsible for all the terrible conditions Mexicans have to live under in their country, we deserve this.
Ever heard of the PATRIOT Act? It’s stupid. It’s racist. Guess who passed it? Hard Right Republicans. Why? Because its not violating THEIR rights. You know if it was they wouldn’t have passed it.
But I don’t dislike all the republicans. Just the really radical ones.
Oh …. and this whole ban on gay marriage thing? IT SUCKS.
That was yesterdays Republicans, not the Republicans of today, things, even parties change, and they did.
Now, as to the why, and its not just liberals btw, its anyone who can read. I suggest you take a look at the questions here about Moochelle, Obama’s father, Obama, the stereotype perpetuated about how black areas are hotbeds of crime, and the idea that black people are the problem when it comes to welfare and entitlements and that they vote Democrat because they get more money from them.
Those things are racist.
Not all of them are racists, some of them are just prejudiced.
They’re lazy.
They tend to be direct and blunt.
You are racist if you call Obama a Nigg**, Kenyan Born-ed, Anti-American (If you are basing on skin), Call his birth certificate fake, insult him in any way that links the skin color, or hate messages with spamming/violence that is prohibited in the community rules of Yahoo, which I have seen from many conservative questions during the birther movement.
Other than that you are not a rasict
@Alex Mostly True. Parties changed on issues over a course of years and decades. The Republican Party of back then is today’s Democratic Party. Democratic Party of back then is today’s Republican Party. The Democratic Party of back then supported slavery while today’s Democratic Party is 100% against slavery, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_switching_in_the_United_States
Same reason “SOME” Conservative Republicans claim Democrats to be lazy, jobless, race card users on welfare.
I still eat food and breath air,as I find these things to be very beneficial to my very existence.
I think it depends on whee you went to school and how your home experience was.
Different people are “conditioned” to believe in different things – but their church, school, teachers, parents, friends, and life experience in general.
I remember holding to true to the adage – treat others the same way you want to be treated.
Never tell lies.
Never give up on your dreams.
ALways try to improve the life of others (volunteer work).
Always remain true to your friends and families.
And
last but certainly not least
karma works.
Peace.
